“…However, some of this damage may not be revealed by the methods used widely at present. the enormous advances and developments in molecular biology tools during the last three decades offer various new possibilities for detecting DNa damage through DNa markers (Castellani et al, 1993;savva et al, 1994;savva, 1996, 1998enan, 2006;al-Qurainy 2010 andPal, 2016). Consequently, in this work, we investigated the possibility of using DNa fingerprinting by iPBS technique that is based on ltR retrotransposons and serve as a general marker system to detect DNa damage in cowpea genome for alteration in response to treatments with plant oils and the bio-insecticide abamectin.…”

“…These changes in the RAPD reaction patterns of the bands may be attributable to DNA damage caused by genotoxins, such as structural alterations or rearrangements (Atienzar et al, 2002). The RAPD method is very useful for ecotoxicological studies because it is simple, sensitive, cheap, and effective at detecting DNA damage (De Wolf et al, 2004;Pal 2016).…”

“…On the other hand, the RAPD fingerprinting technique, a PCR-based molecular marker technique, is a fundamental tool, being a simple, rapid, and low-cost assay used to detect genotoxins that induce a wide range of DNA damage to plants (point mutations, inversions, deletions). It can also be used to describe similarities and diversification between samples by the appearance of new unique bands, disappearance of polymorphic bands, and variation in band intensities (Abdelhaliem and AL-Huqail, 2016;Pal, 2016) Taking the above into consideration, the present study aimed: 1) to evaluate possible stimulatory or inhibitory influences of nTiO 2 as well as phytotoxicity of heavy metal lead (Pb) on soybean seeds; 2) to test the efficiency of the stimulatory (optimal) dose of nTiO 2 as an adsorbent material to neutralize and alleviate the phytotoxic action of lead on economic crop plant soybean, and; 3) to apply nTiO 2 in agriculture for protection of economic crops and to increase agricultural production in future.…”
