Abstract:Background
The root of Pueraria montana var. lobata (Gegen) was a well-known traditional Chinese medical herb, which was prone to be accidentally contaminated with Pueraria montana var. thomsonii, Pueraria wallichii, and Pueraria peduncularis due to the morphological character similarity.
