Detection of Hydrate Forms of Lithium and Sodium Perchlorates in Aqueous Solutions Using near Infrared Spectroscopy

Abstract: A new approach to the study of concentrated electrolyte water solutions is proposed. NIR spectra of aqueous solutions of LiClO 4 and NaClO 4 were studied. The pure spectra and concentration profiles of spectral forms in the solutions were found by deconvolution of an experimentally measured data matrix. The chemometric analysis and the generalised phenomenological model of the structure of aqueous electrolyte solutions were used to establish that the variation in spectra of LiClO 4 solutions with concentration… Show more

“…In the blank control experiment of CBZ direct electrolysis, NaClO 4 was introduced to prepare the background electrolyte solution, in view of its favorable stability and oxidation resistance in anode electrolysis. 20 The concentration of CBZ was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (Agilent 1260 Infinity II) with a UV detector, a C18 column, a acetonitrile (60%)/water (40%) flow matching ratio and a detection wavelength of 286 nm. 0.22 μm organic filtration membrane was required before injection.…”

“…Solutions of salts M n+ (ClO 4 ) n with hypoeutectic concentration hardly reveal the nature of a cation. According to the generalised phenomenological model of the aqueous solution structures of electrolytes and cryoscopy results, [25][26][27][28][29] the structure of water is predominant in this concentration range.…”

“…Perhaps, the principal component analysis (PCA) is the most often applied multivariate data analysis method. As an almost required method, it appears in the assessments of concentration‐dependent spectra of various aqueous solutions, as well as in those of two or more component liquid mixtures, too . PCA is primarily utilized for the determination of systematic principal components (PCs) including deterministic information and for the generation of the input matrix of discriminant analysis, respectively.…”
