Detection of Synchronous Motor Inter-Turn Faults Based on Spectral Analysis of Park’S Vector / Detekcja Zwarc Zwojowych W Silniku Synchronicznym Bazujaca Na Analizie Spektralnej Wektora Przestrzennego Pradu Twornika

Abstract: This paper describes detection of synchronous motor inter-turn faults based on symptoms contained in stator phase currents. Armature short circuit, caused by insulation degradation are quite commonly occurring defects in electrical machines. Initially, short circuit comprises mostly single coils, causing the temperature rise due to higher value of current, which can reach up to tens times of the rated value.
