Detection of Thymidylate Synthase Gene Expression Levels in Formalin-Fixed Paraffin Embedded Tissue by Semiquantitative, Nonradioactive Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction

Abstract: We describe a new, simple and reliable semiautomated strategy for quantifying mRNA from archival specimens by using oligo(dT)25 paramagnetic beads and the reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (PCR) coupled with quantitative digital image analysis (Q-DIA).
