Show more

“…On the other hand, it is linked to psychosocial factors such as culture, socioeconomic level, family dynamics, among others (Utria et al, 2011;Ison et al, 2015) Therefore, attention is divided into sub-processes, one of which is sustained attention, being an attentional function that allows continuous concentration on specific tasks (Pamplona et al, 2020) This involves maintaining sensitivity to incoming stimuli for a period of time (Fisher, 2019)Oh, yeah. In addition, it is the ability to maintain the focus to relevant stimuli, resisting the increase of fatigue and distractibility conditions (Portellano, 2005;Portellano, 2014) It also requires the continuous acquisition of new information over an extended period of time (Pérez-Sánchez et al, 2009) Finally, sustained care is relevant within the clinical and educational area, because in several cognitive disorders the attention deficit is reported (Flores-Barrios et al, 2018) Thus, in a clinical context, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) called a neurodevelopmental disorder is characterized by attention deficit, hyperactivity and impulsivity (Buongiorno et al, 2020) (American Psychiatric Association, 2013 and has an impact on sustained care in children and manifests itself in difficulties in alertness (Rivera Flores & Vera-Alvarez, 2019)It also impacts other neurocognitive difficulties, such as selective attention, executive functions and working memory (Luo et al, 2019) As a result, ADHD screening has been conducted based on neuropsychological assessments and behavioral observations (Gatica-Ferrero & Carreño Alvarez, 2019); today, neuropsychological tools have been incorporated into the assessment of ADHD and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), such as the Differences Perception Test, CARAS-R (Thurstone & Yela, 2021), Identical Forms -R (Thurstone & Yela, 2012), d2-R Attention Test (Brickenkamp, 2002) and the ADHD/e-ADHD Screening Scale (Fenollar-Cortés, 2020)Oh, yeah. In relation to psychometric instruments, it is important to highlight that sustained attention is investigated by various national authors, however, one of…”
