Determination of a cutoff value for pelvic floor distensibility using the Epi-no balloon to predict perineal integrity in vaginal delivery: ROC curve analysis. Prospective observational single cohort study

Abstract: CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Several risk factors are involved in perineal lacerations during vaginal delivery. However, little is known about the influence of perineal distensibility as a protective factor. The aim here was to determine a cutoff value for pelvic floor distensibility measured using the Epi-no balloon, which could be used as a predictive factor for perineal integrity in vaginal delivery. DESIGN AND SETTING: Prospective observational single cohort study conducted in a maternity hospital. METHODS: … Show more

“…Spearman tests were used to test the correlation between different gene expressions. The cut-off values (2 −∆∆CT value) of the high (≥0.047466) and low (<0.047466) ANLN expression groups, as well as the high (≥0.616383) and low (<0.616383) TLE2 expression groups were determined by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis in the Mannheim cohort [54]. Similarly, in the TCGA cohort, the cut-off value (log2 value) of high (≥10.695 in the whole group and ≥10.8268 in the basal subgroup) and low (<10.695 in the whole group and <10.8268 in the basal subgroup) ANLN expression group, as well as high (≥4.97 in the whole group and ≥10.3605 in the luminal subgroup) and low (<4.97 in the whole group and <10.3605 in the luminal subgroup) TLE2 expression group was determined by ROC curve analysis.…”
