Determination of a stimulated emission cross section gradient on the basis of the performance of a diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO4laser

Abstract: A stimulated emission cross section gradient of an Nd:YVO4 laser at the 4F3/2–4I11/2 transition has been shown on the basis of an input–output characteristic. In this study, a diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser has been achieved for variation of the temperature over the range 15–35 °C. The stimulated cross section gradient revealed by this method is (−6.67 ± 0.28) × 10−21 cm2 °C−1, with an average change with respect to the reference for the stimulated emission cross section of (−0.486 ± 0.022)% °C−1. This is in g… Show more

“…However, temperature variation in the stimulated emission cross section was not considered in the study. Studies on stimulated emission cross section variation with temperature using the performance based method were done [3,17]. In these studies, the reference stimulated emission cross section at room temperature was required to calculate the cross section at other temperature values.…”

“…The concentration of hydrocarbon was tested within the ranged of 0 to 20%. The refractive index of the hydrocarbon is measured using diode pumped solid state DPSS laser [19] and detail experiment have been described in other text [20]. Bundle Fiber optic displacement sensor using an intensity modulation technique [4,5] for the displacement measurement, which is based on comparing the transmitted light intensity against that of the reflected light to provide information on the displacement between the probe and the target.…”
