Determination of Copper in Water Samples after Solid‐phase Extraction Using Dimethylglyoxime‐modified Silica

Abstract: This work describes the modification of silica gel with dimethylglyoxime, in order to prepare an effective sorbent for the preconcentration and determination of copper. The sorption capacity of dimethylglyoxime-modified silica-gel (DMGMS) was 71.37 mg g -1 and the optimum pH for the quantitative recovery of copper was found to be 5.0. The optimum flow rate, sorbent amount, and sample volume were 1 mL min -1 , 300 mg, and 50 mL, respectively. 10 mL of 0.1 mol L -1 HCl was the most suitable eluent. The detection… Show more

“…Figure 4 showed the FTIR spectra of epoxy resin before and after curing in the wavenumber range of 550–4000 cm −1 . The strength for adsorption band at 915 cm −1 of epoxy substrates pronouncedly decreased, due to the consumption of epoxy substrates 21, 26, 28, 29. When the quality of curing agent (polyamide resin) was the half of the one of epoxy resin ( m E‐51 : m PA = 2 : 1), conductive adhesive was just completely cured according to the intensity of the adsorption band at 915 cm −1 .…”

“…To improve the antioxidation ability of copper powder, silane coupling KH550 was used as a protective agent, which can cover the surface of the Cu particles to form a hydrophobic film [Fig. 1(a)] 20, 21. Nanosized and microsized Cu particles can form the network structure in resin to improve the electrical conductivity [Fig.…”

“…The pH of the sample solutions plays a critical role on quantitative adsorption and recovery of trace elements on hydrophobic absorbents [31][32][33][34]. The effect of pH on the sorption efficiency of understudy metals ion in test solution was investigated by passing sample solution with pH in the range of 3-7 through the column at optimum value, and respective results are presented in Fig.…”
