Determination of efficiency of an aged HPGe detector for gaseous sources by self absorption correction and point source methods

Abstract: A: Methods for the determination of efficiency of an aged high purity germanium (HPGe) detector for gaseous sources have been presented in the paper. X-ray radiography of the detector has been performed to get detector dimensions for computational purposes. The dead layer thickness of HPGe detector has been ascertained from experiments and Monte Carlo computations.
