Abstract:Certain basic relations between the cross-sectional parameters of the cotton fiber have been obtained and their direct application for determining the cotton fineness and maturity explained. These may be used, with advantage, in place of the empirical relations derived from the values of various cross-sectional parameters physically measured on selected cotton types and currently used for estimat ing the fineness and maturity of cotton by air-flow methods.
