Determination of Hydrophilic Bioactive Substances in Liquid and Dry Extracts of Sea Buckthorn
Abstract:HPLC-UV was used to quantify the content of hydrophilic bioactive substances (serotonin, flavonoids) in liquid and dry extracts of non-fruiting parts of sea buckthorn (leaves, twigs and bark). It has been established that the studied aqueous extracts of sea buckthorn contain up to 14% (wt.) of serotonin in terms of dry matter, and dry extracts -up to 20% (wt.).
