Determination of Mercury in Presence of Halides- Rapid Amperometric Titration

Abstract: 0.45. The indicator-precipitate weight ratio which gave the best results thus far was 0.45, when a 10% difference exists between the unknown sample and the standard. This corresponds roughly to 27 mg. of indicator for each 1 ml. of 0.20M lead nitrate, when the sulfate present is equivalent to approximately half the lead. This result is obtained when the indicator is used on the day it was prepared. Somewhat larger amounts of indicator must be used on the second or third day.
