Determination of metabolites products by Penicillium expansum and evaluating antimicobial activity

Abstract: The objectives of this study were to analyze the secondary metabolites of Penicillium expansum and evaluate antibacterial activity. Twenty eight bioactive compounds were identified in the methanolic extract of P. expansum. The identification of bioactive chemical compounds is based on the peak area, retention time molecular weight and molecular formula. Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis of P. expansum revealed the existence of the Levoglucosenone, Edulan ll, 4-[

“…Diplobacillary forms are commonly found in vivo. [22] They have no specific growth requirements and grow well on standard laboratory media, but grow best between 35 and 37 °C and at pH 7.2. The species are facultative anaerobes, and most strains can survive with citrate and glucose as their sole carbon sources and ammonia as their sole nitrogen source.…”

“…One of the most crucial new enzymes for the commercial sector, particularly for the fruit juice business, is pectinases. Juices with higher yields, more stability and better clarity are certain to be produced as a result (Girard and Fukumoto (1999) [90] . Amylases, glucoamylases, cellulases, hemicellulose, laccase, naringinase and limonene are other examples of enzymes utilized in the juice industry.…”
