Determination of Nicotine Extracted from Eggplant and Green Pepper by HPLC

Abstract: Nicotine was separated from eggplant and green pepper seeds (Solanaceous) by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).The concentration of nicotine in the eggplant extract (0.871-0.877 μg/ml) was determined by injecting standard material with 0.5 and 1.5 μg/ml, while the concentrations of nicotine in green pepper extract (0.613-0.618 μg/ml) was determined when the standard material was injected with 0.5 and 1.5 μg/ml. The qualitative chemical data was calculated from derivations of the standard material. … Show more

“…The results were represented as a percentage of recoveries, and the percent recovery mean was determined, where the ICH Q1(R2) recommendations outlined that the accuracy percent results be equal the value %100±2 in order for the test to be considered acceptable 21 . The accuracy was also estimated by calculating percent relative error which should be not more 5% 22 .…”

“…The aim of this work is to develop both validated analytical RP-HPLC/MS and preparative chromatographic methods for the qualitative and quantitative determination of DPG-related substances in the active pharmaceutical ingredient API and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The developed method was successfully validated as per ICH Q2 (R1) [23][24][25][26] .…”
