Determination of Phospholipid Fractions in Red Blood Cells in Retarded Physically Handicapped Children

Abstract: Phospholipids from the red cells of 85 children, both normal and belonging to various clinical groups, have been extracted and subjected to silica gel chromatography. The several phospholipids have been quantitated. The results have not proved to be useful in diagnosis and hence do not confirm earlier reports. The problems associated with analysis of phospholipids by this type of method are discussed.
