“…The analysis of metal ions concentration in the leachate of marine sediment sample was performed using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS, Elan 9000, Perkin Elmer, Waltham, MA, USA). The concentrations of metal ions (U, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Cd, Co, and Hg) and As were analyzed using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS, Elan 9000, Perkin Elmer, Waltham, MA, USA) [73,74]. The standard curves for U, Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni.…”

“…Various separation technologies are standardized and employed for Uranium separation using several extractants or ligands. There are two methods of matrix separation, [20b] (i) impurities are extracted from Uranium matrix using ion exchange / extraction chromatography (Chelex‐100, TRU resin), [21] (ii) Uranium is extracted from the solution leaving the impurities in aqueous phase e. g., solvent extraction of U using tri‐n‐butyl phosphate (TBP)/CCl 4 , [22] tri‐n‐octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO)/CCl 4 , di (2‐ethyl hexyl) phosphoric acid (DEHP) /toluene, [23] Cyanex‐272/xylene [24] . Our major objective is to standardize the NAA method with short‐lived activation products formed after short time irradiation at PCF, thus here we have employed the conventionally used solvent extraction procedure using TBP/dodecane and validated the analytical method by adding known amounts of neutron poisons (Sm, Dy and Gd).…”

“…Thus, separation technologies including solvent extraction and ion exchange chromatography have been developed to minimize spectral interferences resulting from high concentrations of U relative to the trace elements. [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] Recent efforts have focused on minimizing sample size, reducing method time, and automation to improve these highly effective separations. 2 Separations are generally assumed to be the superlative way to obtain quality ICP-OES results for each element at all trace-level concentrations.…”
