Determination of Rayleigh Damping Coefficient for Natural Damping Rubber Plate Using Finite Element Modal Analysis

Abstract: The consideration of Rayleigh damping coefficients of α and β are an important aspect to determine damping matric in dynamic analysis. In this paper, finite element modal analysis is used on square natural damping rubber plate with various boundary conditions to determine its dynamic properties and damping coefficients α and β. Based on the finding, Rayleigh damping coefficient can be computed and different boundary conditions show different value of Rayleigh damping coefficient.
