Determination of Seventeen Pesticide Residues in Agricultural Products by LC/MS.

Abstract: Residues of 17 pesticides in agricultural products were determined by LC/MS with an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) interface in both positive and negative ion modes. Pesticides were extracted with acetonitrile, and the extracts were cleaned-up with a primary and secondary amine (PSA) mini-column eluted with acetoneῌhexane (1 : 1). Rice, orange and potato were spiked with the 17 pesticides at 0.1 mg/g and analyzed by the proposed method. The average recoveries of these pesticides usually ranged… Show more

“…However, other methods monitored both isomers, e.g. phosphamidon and chlorfenvinphos by GC–MS,9 mevinphos by GC10 and HPLC–APcI–MS11 and dimethomorph by GC–MS,12 LC–MS13 and LC–MS/MS 8, 14, 15. The individual isomers of those pesticides were not separately quantified in any of these papers although they were sometimes well separated.…”

“…HPLC has gained more applications for the determination of many pollutants. As BU insecticides are concerned, there also have some methods such as SPE‐LC–ESI‐MS , HPLC with atmospheric‐pressure chemical ionization MS (HPLC‐APCI‐MS) , HPLC–MS with both ESI and APCI techniques , HPLC–MS/MS with pressurized‐liquid extraction preconcentration , and photochemical‐spectrofluorimetric methods . In order to obtain high sensitivity, the derivatization step is also often used when a conventional HPLC with fluorescence detection is used.…”

“…Many methods have been reported for the analysis of BU insecticides, such as solid‐phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with GC‐MS (SPME‐GC‐MS) 5, SPE prior to HPLC with ESI‐MS (SPE‐LC‐ESI‐MS) 6, photochemical‐spectrofluorimetric method 7 HPLC with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization‐MS 8 and HPLC‐MS with both ESI and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization techniques 9.…”
