Determination of the Internal Combustion Engine Valve Gear Characteristics

Abstract: Abstract. Method of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) valve gear characteristics determination by using the numerical differentiation of tappet movement law is submitted. The method of converting these characteristics for different valve types is proposed. Based on the methods of calculation of the motion law of the follower, characteristics of the timing and conversion of the data during the transition from one kinematics to another developed computer software included in the software complex for synthesis… Show more

“…As can be seen from ( 1) and (2), the equations for temperature and moisture content in this case are independent (the relationship between the functions T and U is carried out in this model only through boundary conditions), which makes significant simplifications in the algorithm for studying the process. The equations for complexes (13) under the conditions of our problem can be represented as: Using the Euler method, we find general solutions to these equations that satisfy the condition at infinity (11). They will look like this:…”

“…In these formulas: σthe Stefan-Boltzmann constant; Аthe coefficient of thermal radiation; TB and ψthe temperature and humidity of the air beyond the boundary layer; aw and amthe coefficients of heat and mass exchange of the sample surface with the air medium; P(T)a function that models the dependence of the relative partial pressure of saturated water vapor on its temperature T at General normal pressure; T1=273°C and T2=238°Cconstants. The intensity of heat exchange Q, according to (7), includes heat exchange by convection and heat exchange by radiation, and the intensity of mass exchange J, according to (8), is taken as Dalton's law of evaporation.…”

“…In order to select the profile parameters that provide the longest time-section of the valve, mathematical methods of experiment planning were used in the construction of this model. In this regard, it should be assumed that the cam described in [13][14][15][16] is characterized by the highest efficiency for this profiling method and specific source data.…”
