“…The transition temperature between them is around 650 • C [1]. There are many processes can be used to prepare the SrAl 2 O 4 phosphor, e.g., solid-state reaction [2], sol-gel method [3], combustion process [4] and Pechini process [5]. B 2 O 3 is a well-known glass former, which has a low melting point around 460 • C. It is regarded as an excellent flux to facilitate the material diffusion.…”

“…4, four groups of lines were observed at about 588, 592, 612 and 651 nm. These lines are attributed to the 5 D 0 -7 F J (J = 1, 2, 3) transitions of Eu 3+ in the host, respectively, and the emission intensity of Sr 2+ incorporated BaB 8 13 , the line of the 5 D 0 -7 F 2 transition at about 612 nm has the strongest intensity, which shows that Eu 3+ occupies a crystallographic site without inversion symmetry. But for Ca 2+ incorporated BaB 8 O 13 :Eu, the main emission line is region at 588 nm due to the 5 D 0 -7 F 1 transition of Eu 3+ .…”

“…The fact would be due to that the cation structures of borate have an influence on the electron transfer and the energy of the CT band of Eu 3+ would be affected [11,12]. It is known that the ionic radius of Ca 2+ , Sr 2+ , Ba 2+ are 0.106, and 0.127, 0.15 nm [13][14][15], respectively, and Sr 2+ is well matched with the Ba 2+ , but Ca 2+ showed the larger radius difference compared with Ba 2+ . It is known that the substitution with different ionic radius will bring the distortion of host lattice.…”

“…Recently, the preparation of phosphor materials for UV-LED used as an illumination light source has become an important issue because Eu 2+ -doped crystals have considerable potential as chromaticity tunable phosphor [1][2][3][4][5]. A singe phosphors of Ca 0.5 Sr 0.5 Al 2 O 4 :Eu 2+ crystals powders applied to the UV-near white luminescence was investigated in this study.…”

“…The inhomogeneous effect was used to explain the broad band emission of Eu 2+ -doped Ca 0.5 Sr 0.5 Al 2 O 4 crystal calcined in reductive atmosphere. Consequently, Eu 2+ ions are expected to preferentially occupy Ca 2+ /Sr 2+ sites due to the valence and radius (Ca 2+ , Sr 2+ , Eu 2+ are 0.106, 0.127, 0.113 nm) [3,7,8].…”
