Reikhardt UDC 666.974.2:666.762.1]~622.788,5The introduction of gunited concrete linings at the Kostomuksh Mining and Beneficiation Combine started in 1981 and was preceded by the selection of compositions of guniting mixtures for use in linings at various temperatures, development of the guniting method, laboratory and production tests, and also the introduction of gunited concrete linings in other combines* [i] in a period of 3-5 years. However, the conditions of conducting the work, the volu~e, size, and type of the unformed refractory materials, and the method of combining the construction and assembly work in preparation of the linings at Kostromuksh Mining and Beneficiation Combine differed significantly from similar work at other mining and heneficiation combines.* Four guniting mixtures of aluminosilicate composition with alumina (600 tons for a single machine) and high-alumina (240 tons) cements were selected based on the conditions of firing of the iron ore pellets [2] and the composition of the dust and gas atmosphere of the sintering machine hearths (sintering temperature 1300-1350~ up to 1.07-1.17 wt. % sulfur in the concentrate, fuel was type M-100 high-sulfur fuel oil). The lining design of the Kostomoksh Mining and Beneficiation Combine, which was according to the plan of Ural Power Management for Ferrous Metallurgy in 1979-1980, differed in the use of fastening elements and the thickness of the layers and also in the design of the individual layers and assemblies. Preparation of the lining in inaccessible areas (gas and air chambers and gas lines, bunker of the contaminated gas header, precombustion chamber connections, and other units having dimensions difficult for guniting and various forms) was required with maintenance of the technical parameters (Fig. i). The guniting method was developed on the basis of the results of [i, 3] and consisted of the following basic operations: preparation of the original materials; checking the quality of the fillers, additions, and cements; addition of the components in the specified proportions and dry mixing in a mixer: loading of the SB-67A guniting machine bunker; preparation of the guniting panels and charts with sizes of 1500x2000 or 2000x3000mm depending upon the thickness of the layer of gunited concrete and the guniting methods; guniting of the charts to the design thickness with a compressed air pressure of 0.15-0.45 MPa, a water pressure of 0.25-0.6 MPa, and a distance from the nozzle to the surface being gunited of 0.9-1.3 m; a moist hold of the gunited concrete for 3 days; drying and heating according to the cycle for 150-230 h.During preparation of the linings, samples were taken in accordance with GOST 23037-78 for the fillers and GOST 310.1,81 for each lot of cement. The chemical composition of the componentswas determined by random sampling to GOSTs 2642.0-86 and 2642.12-86. The quality of the gunited concrete was determined on sample...
