Abstract:Stretch forming process is commonly used in the aircraft industry for the manufacturing of large sheet panels. The success of this process is highly dependent on the tool motions during forming. These motions are determined by trial - error procedure and it is costly. This study aims to optimize the stretch forming process by determining the necessary tool motions with numerical analysis. For this purpose, finite element model (FEM) of the process is established. Material characterization and friction tests of… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
