Détermination théorique et expérimentale des forces d'oscillateur des transitions de l'atome de césium

Abstract: A theoretical determination of oscillator strengths for the cesium atom is proposed. The values obtained are compared with experimental results deduced from the emission spectra of a slightly ionized quiescent cesium plasma discharge.

“…Before we proceed, we note that, in order to search for red-and bluedetuned magic wavelengths for a far-off-resonance trap, the scalar and tensor polarizabilities of the ground and excited states of atomic cesium have been calculated [19][20][21]. Relevant parameters were taken from a number of sources [15,[49][50][51]. Very recently, the vector light shifts of cesium atoms in a nanofiber-based trap have been studied [30].…”

“…Figure 4 illustrates the present and the previously reported f values of the 6p 2 P 3/2 → nd 2 D 5/2 transitions. The closed squares represent the present work which is extended to n = 60, whereas the closed circles (5 n 11) are the theoretical 5 results and triangles (15 n 19) represent the experimental f values reported by Fabry and Cossent [28]. The insert in Fig.…”

“…A few groups have reported the oscillator strengths of the lower transitions [23][24][25][26][27][28]. Fabry and Cussenot [28] reported both theoretical and experimental oscillator strengths of the lower transitions originating from the 6p 2 P 3/2 excited state. Figure 4 illustrates the present and the previously reported f values of the 6p 2 P 3/2 → nd 2 D 5/2 transitions.…”
