Abstract:The flow rate is a significant factor in the operation of centrifugal pumps. The characteristic curve of the pump head is frequently employed in the calculation of the flow rate. Nevertheless, this may be subject to alteration because of prewhirl on the suction side of the pump. Calculating the changes in the head’s characteristic curve reveals a change in hydraulic losses.
