The psychological distress may be very important and a frequent cause of drop-out during the medical procedure. Therefore the couple should be taken into account globally. Different level of counselling sessions should be offered to give the couple complete information about the procedure. The psychological counselling should be tailored to their need in term of coping strategies in the management of the stress or more specific psychotherapeutical a pproach. Indeed consultation-liaison psychiatric interventions should be offered when the couple is known for psychiatric comorbidities or is presenting anxio-depressive symptoms in reaction to medical procedure.
