Abstract: Staphylococcus aureus produces heat-stable toxins that cause major foodborne gastroenteritis. Staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA) is the most recovered toxin in staphylococcal food poisoning outbreaks. A sensitive method for the detection of SEA is needed for food safety and food defense monitoring.
