Science education essentially involves students in a systematic scientific investigation. SPS can be developed in sciencebased learning so that students can use it as a basic skill to master science. 100 students of class VIII of Junior High school in the first year were the samples used in this research. Purposive sampling was used to determine the sample in this research. The SPS test kit (SPSTI) is used to determine the SPS profile of junior high school students on the substance pressure material. Indicators in the SPSTI consist of 8 types. The instruments in this research have been declared valid and reliable by experts consisting of 3 experts. The implementation of this research describes the SPS profile of junior high school students, especially in the matter of substance pressure, in general, is still at a very low level. The results of this research can be evidence for future research of SPS subjects for substance pressure materials in junior.high.school.students' that need to be improved.

Today science teachers are expected to understand the nature of environmental education, and be competent in skills, methods, and procedures relevant to a science discipline. The purpose of this research was to explore pre-service science teachers’ views with regard to environmental education, investigation conducted during a freshwater ecosystem studied, skills developed and the associated stepwise scientific process. Data were collected through a five-item questionnaire that included the characteristics of environmental education, types of scientific investigations, science process skills and the scientific process. 94 students that registered for a Bachelor of Education degree participated in this research. The results from statistical analysis of the teachers’ responses showed the importance of lifelong learning, involvement of community in environmental education and development of critical and problem-solving skills. However, most teachers could not provide correct scientific investigation they conducted during the freshwater study. Although there were no correlations between the investigation, science process skills and the associated scientific process, influence of the stepwise scientific process recommended in the science curriculum was evident in the teachers’ linking of form a hypothesis to observation. The findings imply that teachers face potential challenges in understanding of scientific investigations and the scientific process. Existing learning has not fully facilitated 4C (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) skills and there are obstacles for students to encounter in studying biology, especially the material about plant tissue. It happens due to various limitations in achieving basic competency skills. One of the learning approaches that can be used to support 4C skills is the STEM approach which is supported by student worksheets (SW) to guide the learning process. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of STEM-based SW to train students' creative thinking skills. The research method used is descriptive quantitative and qualitative with one group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were 21 students of XI grades at SMAK St.Hendrikus. Data analysis of the N-Gain test of creative thinking skills obtained an average N-gain of 0.7 with a medium category. The N-Gain analysis of creative thinking skills using the T-Test with a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 indicates that STEM-based worksheets are effective in training students' creative thinking skills.
