“…Given the current shortage of nurse leaders, mentors, and educators from diverse backgrounds, ethnic nursing organizations (ENOs) often serve to fill in the gaps and provide meaningful and safe mentoring relationships for nurses that share similar ethnic backgrounds (Matza, Garon, & Que‐Lahoo, 2018). ENOs are invaluable in terms of supporting their members and disseminating research, cultural knowledge and practice to the wider nursing workforce and many nurses turn to these organizations in an effort to combat the racism and isolation they have experienced as they have sought to advance their nursing careers (Matza et al., 2018). Drawing upon the experiences and the expertise of ENOs, nurse leaders and mentors can develop programs and plans on how to best connect and partner with those organizations in order to provide more mentoring opportunities for nurses from diverse backgrounds.…”
