Background and purpose
The development of training programs in parabadminton taking into account the physiological and psychological needs of athletes with disabilities is the key to improving the performance of athletes and their competitiveness at the international level. Taking into account the specifics of this sport requires the implementation of effective training methods that create favorable conditions for social integration and active involvement of people with disabilities in the competitive process. Purpose: to analyze the peculiarities of the training process of a pair of badminton players, to determine the effectiveness of modern approaches to the sports training of Ukrainian athletes, and to summarize practical recommendations.
Material and methods
The articles were selected using a search tool in the Scopus, Web of Science, and Google scholar databases. The search was carried out using the keywords “parabadminton”, “parabadminton players”, . “athletes with disabilities”, ‘disabled badminton players’. The initial search yielded 976 articles. After applying the selection criteria to the titles and abstracts, 26 articles were found and the criteria were applied to the full texts.
Results
Based on the analysis, it can be said that training programs for parabadminton players of different qualifications have significant differences, especially in the intensity, structure of training and emphasis on technical and tactical elements. It has been determined that Ukrainian coaches use complex techniques aimed at improving the balance, reaction and endurance of athletes, which contributes to their adaptation to competitive loads and ensures competitiveness at the international level.
Conclusions
The analysis of modern approaches to the training of parabadminton players confirms the importance of an integrated approach that takes into account the physical, technical and individual characteristics of athletes. Training in this sport requires adapted programs to develop reaction speed, postural control, and motor function, which is especially important for reducing the risk of injury and increasing stability during the game.
