“…It can be seen that compared with the non‐reinforced ePP, a 4‐fold increase of the tensile strength and a 7‐fold increase of the tensile modulus were achieved by preparing short‐fibre reinforced SR‐PPCs. The achieved noticeable improvement of the tensile properties is significantly better than achieved earlier by injection moulding technology using co‐extruded composite pellets or bicomponent PP fibres as raw materials . In our system, the homopolymer fibres did not aggregate and could maintain their mechanical performance during processing and thus serve as adequate reinforcement in the composite.…”
