Development and evaluation of bio-nanoparticles as novel drug carriers for the delivery of Selegiline

Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to formulate and evaluate Selegiline loaded bio-nanoparticles for effective treatment of Depression. For the preparation of bio-nanoparticles biomaterial was isolated from fruits of Luffa acutangula by an economic method. The biomaterial recovered from the concentrate was subjected for various physicochemical properties like color, solubility, color changing point and chemical test. Bio-nanoparticles were prepared by modified solvent evaporation method in different batches … Show more

“…The isolated biopolymers were found to be free flowing with their uniform particle size. The SEM image revealed that the most of the biopolymers were found to be granular in nature with flaky appearance which revealed their polymeric nature of the biopolymers [32]. FTIR analysis of biopolymers revealed their polymeric nature because of the presence of different functional group like alcoholic, carboxylic group, ketonic group, amino group et.…”

“…Nanoparticles are investigated for several pharmaceutical functions due to their ability to guard drug from protein degradation, management the discharge of medicine, and enhance drug penetration and absorption at the particular membrane sites resulting in exaggerated bioavailability. Conjointly nanoparticle will offers a powerful adhesion attributable to the exaggerated contact space for van der Waals attraction [5][6][7]. Olanzapine, a BCS category II compound poorly soluble, however extremely permeable, exhibiting bioavailability that is restricted by the dissolution rate [8].…”
