Development and Validation of a Rp-HPLC Method for the Simultaneous Determination of Curcumin, Piperine and Camphor in an Ayurvedic Formulation

Abstract: Objective: To develop a novel, accurate, precise and linear reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method for simultaneous qualitative and quantitative estimation of curcumin, piperine and camphor in an ayurvedic formulation and validate as per international conference on harmonization (ICH) guidelines. Methods: In the present work, good chromatographic separation was achieved isocratically using a shim-pack HPLC C18 column (4.6 x 250 mm, 5μm) and mobile phase consisting of 0.02 M potas… Show more

“…C. domestica also significantly inhibited apoptosis of ESC-B5 cells in mice and blastocysts induced by methylglyoxal [61]. The chromatography technique, namely, reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography was very useful in quantifying and controlling the quality of extracted curcumin [166].…”

“…The supernatant was separated which is called Supernatant I and 400 µL of acetonitrile was added to residue and the resultant solution was mixed again for 2 min on cyclomixer at room temperature and centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 20 min, and then Supernatant II was added to the Supernatant I. The pooled Supernatants I and II were collected and kept for evaporation to dryness on water bath, the residue was dissolved in 200 µL of acetonitrile, and after filtration through 0.2 µm syringe filter, 20 µL of the solution was spiked for the HPLC analysis [16].…”
