Development of 3D printing entity slicing software

Abstract: Based on STL (stereo lithography) format file and with Microsoft Visual C ++ 6.0 programming language, a 3D printing slicing software appropriate for the surface strengthening of the parts has been developed, which includes three functions: 3D model import, model slicing and data export. Through the grouping of STL model triangle facets before slicing, the judgment times of the relationship between the triangle facets and the cutting planes are reduced, and the slicing efficiency is impr… Show more

“…The test consists in folding the filament and verifying if it remains in one piece or if it breaks, as can be seen in Figure 3. In relation to the printing software, responsible for the discretization of the 3D model in 2D contours, that means that the processing of codes that will be recognized by the 3D printer (Guan, 2021), their use and choice to print is a very common difficulty in 3D printing. Baumann et al (2015), conducted a study with the objective of comparing 3D printing software programs: Cura, KISSlicer, Skeinforge and Slic3r.…”

“…In response to the secrecy of these software built-in core algorithms, the lack of scalability and charges for complex functions, the processing of digital model slices in 3D printing technology is studied [5] . In order to obtain model geometry and cross-sectional contours quickly and accurately, and to facilitate the operator's observation of model details and analysis of printing effects, a 3D printing digital pre-processing software [6] is designed and proposed on the basis of which the geometric model can be displayed visually and sliced quickly, and the sliced contours can be filled with path planning to obtain effective tool movement paths and finally output a G-code sequence that can be used for printer recognition.…”
