Development of a Large-Bored Stirling Engine in Japan

Abstract: The object of this study was to clarify problems and to assess the feasibility of developing a marine Stirling engine in the near future. The paper reports results of field tests which have been carried out and describes the design and production of the heat exchanger, combustor and experimental engine.
