Abstract:Abstract. During the last few decades, the impact of multiphase chemistry on secondary organic aerosols (SOAs) has been demonstrated to be the key to explaining laboratory experiments and field measurements. However, global atmospheric models still show large biases when simulating atmospheric observations of organic aerosols (OAs). Major reasons for the model errors are the use of simplified chemistry schemes of the gas-phase oxidation of vapours and the parameterization of heterogeneous surface reactions. Th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
