Abstract: This research is a case study on the coast of Karawang Regency, West Java Province, which is part of the North Coast of Java. In the coastal area of Karawang, it was previously planned to build a port, but it was canceled and shifted to another regency. How is the condition of the Karawang coast? “…Tidal flood management can be done in the form of adaptation of settlements to tidal floods to survive flooding by changing the shape of the house, elevating the kitchen, elevating the yard, elevating the living room, elevating all floors, elevating bathrooms and toilets, and building a two-story building [26]. To prevent tidal flooding caused by physical changes in the coastline due to sedimentation and abrasion, the Karawang coastal area has made mitigation efforts by building coastal protection structures in the form of seawalls, revetments, groins, and jetties [27].…”

“…There is competitive pressure for port managers and operators to find ways to deliver consistent improvements in productivity and profitability [4]. So that they often override sustainable management, or the development of ecoport management that can ensure sustainable 1221 (2023) 012058 IOP Publishing doi:10.1088/1755-1315/1221/1/012058 2 management is not a priority, even though the port area is located in a coastal area that must be maintained in balance between the ecosystem and the environment [10]. Mismanagement of the seaport environment, of course, will have fatal consequences, so that it is meaningless to generate high profits if the environment is damaged or polluted, which in turn is not a profit but a big loss that occurs [17].…”
