Like the work on promotoras and the mamás, we were working with similarly offered solutions that arose organically, reflected their community's strengths, and were thus more likely to result in greater effectiveness (Hernandez & Organista, 2013, 2015; Kieffer et al, 2013; Manzo et al, 2016; Manzo, Rangel, Flores, & De la Torre, 2018; Williamson, Knox, Guerra, & Williams, 2014).
