The current stage of development of the Russian economy is characterized by a transformation of social, political, mega-economic, etc. conditions. development. This gives rise to numerous new threats and risks to economic security. In many ways, they are strengthened due to the increase in military-political tension, the conduct of a special military operation and the introduction of numerous anti-Russian sanctions. Basic legal provisions regarding ensuring economic security in these conditions required revision. The predominance of external threats over internal ones has become an additional incentive to rethink the meaning of the concept of “economic security.” At the same time, for organizations operating in Russia, threats began to be associated with restrictions imposed by the countries of the collective West against the Russian Federation. In such a situation, theoretical research in terms of determining the economic security of Russia under sanctions is becoming increasingly important. The article provides a theoretical understanding of modern and promising approaches to understanding economic security.
