Development of Dual-Arm Anticancer Drug Compounding Robot and Preparation System with Adaptability and High-Speed

Abstract: AimZZRobots are able to increase safety for pharmacy staff as separating from toxicity of anti-cancer drugs. For patient safety, it would provide right dose of the drugs. Additionally, it can reduce price of the drugs. Therefore, in this study, a novel compounding anticancer drugs robot system (Dupalro) was developed. MethodsZZWe used the robot system, Motoman dual-arm robot from YASKAWA, Japan and medications which are adapted for the robot were constructed. In order to develop a process of compounding antica… Show more

“…The system was used, among other things, for the determination of cholesterol in biliary endoprosthesis using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS) [ 27 ] and for chirality studies [ 28 ]. Dual-arm robot-based systems have also been described for automated downstream analysis of epidermal models [ 29 ] or anticancer drug compounding [ 30 ].…”

“…Recently, robotic medication compounding has demonstrated an improvement in the safety and efficiency of the therapeutic process in different settings. Robotic devices have been shown to be useful in the preparation of chemotherapies, adjuvant medications, and cytotoxic drugs for adult patients (Seger et al, 2012; Nam et al, 2016; Iwamoto et al, 2017; Unluturk et al, 2018; Geersing et al, 2019). In all cases, the robot was handled by the hospital pharmacists.…”
