Development of Electronic Modules Based on STEM to Train Students' Creativity: Validity and Practicality Analysis

Abstract: The STEM-based electronic module is a systematic presentation of learning materials to support students' independence with an approach in four fields of knowledge: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This study aims to describe the feasibility of this STEM-based electronic module to train students' creativity. The specific objectives of this study are to describe: (1) The validity of the STEM-based electronic physics module; and (2) The practicality of the STEM-based physics electronic module. “…It is due to using PDTM, which is connected to the surrounding problems to encourage students' critical thinking skills. Fourth, creative thinking skills include providing many ideas, questions, answers, and ways (Ennis, 2011;Melisa et al, 2021). From the results of the data analysis, it can be seen that the creative thinking ability of students in the experimental group is higher than that in the control group.…”

“…The technology component in STEM trains students to use technology and adds insight into the application of physics to technology (Abed, 2019;Arista & Kuswanto, 2018;McGee, 2020). The engineering component of STEM trains students to develop creative thinking skills, respect each other, and collaborate (Melisa et al, 2021;Suyatna et al, 2020;Zakiyah, 2022). The mathematical component of STEM can help students formulate equations related to physics concepts in life mathematically (Kartika et al, 2021;Smolnikova, 2020).…”

“…Furthermore, there are now more options for interactive and technologically enhanced learning experiences because the use of touchscreen devices and digital technology has been linked to cognitive development in infants and toddlers (Li et al, 2018;Villanti et al, 2017). Furthermore, it has been established that creating e-modules and incorporating STEM-based learning resources are useful approaches for encouraging students' critical thinking, creativity, and cognitive growth (Ciriminna et al, 2023;Hayes et al, 2020;Melisa et al, 2021;Rahayu & Sukardi, 2020).…”

“…This highlights the potential of electronic media to improve students' ability to learn at a high level and their willingness to solve problems in the learning community. In addition, the development of electronic learning modules based on STEM subjects is aimed at developing students' creativity. As stated by (Melisa et al, 2021), these modules highlight the practicality and quality of electronic learning materials in providing clear and concise learning materials for independent study. Additionally, Tobing & Oktaviani's (2022) study provides insights into the effectiveness of electronic learning materials for EFL students' comprehension, emphasizing the importance of motivation and faedah in relation to electronic learning materials.Reference Chen & Bryer (2012): "Investigating instructional strategies for using social media in formal and informal learning" The international review of research in open and distributed learning (2012) This article investigates instructional strategies for using social media in formal and informal learning, shedding light on the potential applications of social media in enhancing the learning process.…”
