Development of free water knock-out tank by using internal heat exchanger for heavy crude oil

Abstract: Reactivation of an old oil well can be explicitly calculated to maximize crude oil production. The biggest challenge with the activation process is the crude oil content in old wells, which is not feasible to meet the specified minimum standards. In the case of the Bunian oil field, Indonesia, the crude oil produced has high water content. It causes a decrease in the quality of production and also hinders production capacity. The production scheme applied to the Bunian field has a storage tank that functions t… Show more

“…An example of the application of this innovation is technological development based on the utilization of renewable energy and an increase in the scope of technological applications, which were originally centralized to become modular [1]. The application of technologies used to reactivate old oil well systems [2] and improved wind turbine models [3] are examples of innovations supporting energy supply. Furthermore, this development encourages small-scale renewable energy and creative technologies that utilize alternative fuels, such as biomass and thermal energy storage, which require special adjustments to be accepted by society [4].…”

“…The exploration of new fossil fuel sources is accompanied by the massive utilization of alternative fuels and renewable energy. This can be done by installing a heat exchanger for the dewatering process reducing the water content to less than <0.1 % [1]. Another effort can also be made by improving the system's efficiency supporting renewable energy technology as a serious effort for the transition to low-carbon power systems significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions where a critical aspect is the feasibility [2] of the components and dispatchability of the system.…”
