Abstract:Silica based catalyst was prepared from geothermal sludge – solid waste from geothermal exploration - of Dieng Power Station, Central Java, Indonesia. The catalyst was prepared by extracting silica compound from the sludge matrix, followed by sulfonation to obtain sulfonated – solid catalyst.
