Abstract:Injecting water with chemicals to generate emulsions
in the reservoir
is a promising method for enhancing heavy oil recovery because oil-in-water
(O/W) emulsions significantly reduce oil viscosity. To enhance heavy
oil recovery efficiency, we developed new star-like branched AM-SSS
copolymers (SB-PAMs) with reduction in the viscosity of the heavy
oil emulsion, which was synthesized by reversible addition–fragmentation
chain transfer (RAFT) controlled radical polymerization. The core
structure of the branched p… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
