W e propose a s i m p l i f i e d s e r i a l communication network t h a t is designed t o make r e a l time c o n t r o l in a d i s t r i b u t e d function system within a vehicle.The network has a r i n g type s t r u c t u r e and t h e d a t a t r a n s f e r rate is 1 Mbits/sec.The network i n t e r f a c e c i r c u i t is r e a l i z e d in a small g a t e s i z e and is b u i l t in communic a t i o n i n t e r f a c e c i r c u i t of micro-processors or f u t u r e i n t e l l i g e n t sensors of smart power I C s . The communicat i o n network is c o n t r o l l e d by a communication c o n t r o l l e r , whose g a t e s i z e is about 300 g a t e s . function engine c o n t r o l system with s i x CPUs (Central Processing Unit) connected with sensors and power devices for engine i d l e speed c o n t r o l of lean burn processes. The engine c o n t r o l system a c t s lhe network system is applied t o a d i s t r i b u t e d s u c c e s s f u l l y .
