Development of ripple reduced solar photovoltaic regulators using boomerang sliding mode control strategy

Abstract: Summary DC–DC boost converters are extensively used in wide range of solar photovoltaic (PV) applications. A common problem in PV regulator is the presence of ripples in output voltage and output current, due to the oscillations in PV power, inaccurate switching, and inadmissible inductor peak currents. In general, conventional boost converters are widely used in PV regulator; however, conventional PWM‐controlled boost converters are upgraded to sliding mode controller (SMC)‐based PWM controllers, which has be… Show more

“…Thus, those values are determined from the plant and PID transfer functions derived and solved in. 28 In the same way, β is the gain value for the sensed actual voltage across the DC-Link capacitor terminals, thus the value will be the ratio of actual voltage to the reference voltage. Practically, the value of d 1 levels between the two extremes as given in (20).…”

“…From the above expression (28), it is inferred that the state variable for inverter output voltage depends on the modulation index and the input DC voltage. This paper concerns on a constant input DC voltage for the inverter via the DC-Link capacitor is ensured; hence, the adjustments of M is the predominant control parameter of the Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) in maintaining the RMS value of the AC output voltage.…”

“…The usage of hyper-tangent function is to have a linear unit in the search space which is capable of quick convergence and prevents the gradient problem. Similarly, the variable 𝑣 𝑏 ⃗⃗⃗⃗ = [−𝑎, 𝑎] having the boundary set between −𝑎 to 𝑎 is given as (20),…”
