Development of SNP marker panels for genotyping by target sequencing (GBTS) and its application in soybean

Abstract: A high-throughput genotyping platform with customized flexibility, high genotyping accuracy and low cost is critical for marker-assisted selection and genetic mapping in soybean. Three assay panels were selected from the SoySNP50K, 40K, 20K and 10K, containing 41541, 20748 and 9670 SNP markers, respectively, for genotyping-by-target sequencing (GBTS). Fifteen representative accessions were used to assess the accuracy and consistency of the SNP alleles determined by the SNP panels and sequencing platform. SNP a… Show more

“…GBTS technology has been extensively applied to animals and plants, including maize [6], soybean [7], broccoli [8], and sheep [9]. Although several solid‐phase SNP chips have been developed for chickens, primarily based on high‐producing broiler or layer breeds, containing 50,000–500,000 SNP loci, such as the Illumina 60 K [10], Affymetrix 600 K [11] and 55 K [12], and Phenoix Chip‐I [13], they have some limitations in conducting genetic resource research and breeding of local chicken breeds in China.…”
