Substance-P-immunoreactive axons have been observed in the lateral geniculate nucleus (Brecha et al, 1987;Wadhwa et al, 1990), the pregeniculate nucleus and the pretectal olivary nucleus (Nakagawa et al, 1988), the parabigeminal nucleus (Bennett-Clarke et al, 1989), and the pulvinar LP complex (Hutsler & Chalupa, 1991).
