Abstract:This paper describes the design and experimental results regarding a solid breeder blanket for a tokamak-based fusion power plant, which is cooled with supercritical pressure water. The analysis of the system shows that a thermal efficiency of 41% can be achievable with cooling conditions of 25 MPa, 510°C. Thermo mechanical analysis of the first wall shows that the present design can withstand supercritical pressure and a high heat load from plasma. The 3D neutronics analyses show that a local TBR of more than… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
