Without a doubt, many remote areas have a hidden potential of energy, which can be considered for electricity production. Indeed, energy supply for remote areas is one of the most critical targets of SDGs BY the 2030 year. Based on this explanation, this paper presents a technoeconomic analysis of hybrid energy systems installable for two capital provinces of Iran, concerning SDGs targets. Firstly, a comprehensive investigation of SDGs and UN-Habitat III targets are described and then, concerning these targets and existing data gathered by the meteorological organization of Iran, a techno-economic analysis is conducted using Homer software. Regarding the high potential of renewable energies in Zahedan and Zanjan cities of Iran, implementing hybrid energy systems could be feasible for producing electrical energy as a correct policy and a good vision by policymakers and energy experts in the future. In this respect, a PV-Wind-Generator system is investigated in this paper for producing electricity in the two mentioned cities. Technical analysis of the solar energy for Zahedan is showing that the total amount of electricity production by the hybrid system is about 40,617 kWh/yr. In addition, the total amount of electricity production by this hybrid system for Zanjan is to equal 41,728 kWh/yr. Therefore, regarding this high potential of energy in these areas, investment on the solar energy for both cities has economic justification, while from the wind energy potential viewpoint, only Zahedan is proper for investment.

Without a doubt during human life, the role of water in our life is the most vital. Water is necessary for human survival and other kind of existing ecosystems. Due to the increasing population and climate change of the earth, human societies need freshwater sources and conservation more than ever before. According to these rapid changes in the importance of water sources, positive actions by the United Nations (UNs) are increasing around the world. Regarding the dramatic increase in energy demand, especially in the water industry, water management plays a significant role in this industry, especially for urban areas. Hence, water management can be useful as a practical and applicable method to achieve energy sustainability and prevent water waste. The main objective of this study is to investigate the four influential indexes, including policy, economy, environment, social and most important indicators that have an impact on water management based on energy sustainability. A new way to achieve energy sustainability using appropriate indicators for water management is crucial, thus correct selection and how to implement them is essential. The result of this study shows, if energy experts and policymakers have a proper strategy and appropriate actions, can improve the situation of water management for megacities and urban areas.

Solar and wind can be considered as sustainable environmentally friendly and omnipresent renewable energy sources for generating a part of required electrical energy for inhabitants of the remote areas in different countries. Accordingly, this study investigates the techno-economic evaluation for two-hybrid renewable energy systems for Bandar Dayyer. The findings of this study shows that using the HOMER software, the total amount of electricity production by these systems are equal to 470,176 kW, of which 22,409 kW is provided by PV-generic system and 447,767 kW is supplied by PV-diesel-generic system.
